I'm so excited about this kit . . . it is my first collaboration kit . . . with Cara of Sweet Tomato Designs and Heather of Heather Hess Designs.

It is all about photography! We made it diverse enough that you can use it for every day layouts or "focus" on photography layouts. An of course named . . . Focus

In conjunction with the release at PolkaDotPlum, Heather and I (who are both on the PDP Creative Team) are hosting a new monthly photography challenge. It is really two-fold . . . a weekly focus that includes tutorials and lessons and a monthly focus which is a list of photography prompts. After disappearing for a while. . . actually I was just spending a lot of time designing and scrapping (I'm a scrapping contest junkie - read about my adventures here) . . . I'm back with some new products!!

I am so excited about these Stitched Borders . . .

they can help you create a simple layout quickly with minimal fuss . . . simply add a title, maybe an element or two along with your photos and you're done!

Here's an example of a layout I created for my sister using a stitched border in the center of the layout with journaling right on it!

I also have a full kit available (you can also grab just the alphaor just the papers) called Spring Blush. . . our fruit trees are just starting to get blossoms, but this would work well for Easter layouts, your feminine layouts and more . . . I even scrapped my pooch!

I'm now exclusively at ScrapMatters! After guesting there in November, I made the switch in December. While I was sad to leave all my friends at DesignsInDigital, I'm excited to settle into my new home.

I know . . . a couple weeks ago I was so excited that the first glimpses of fall were here (smile). But now I'm going to miss summer . . . this is the love/hate relationship we have. I'm glad to see the hot, humid days, bees and air conditioning go away . . . yet I will miss the casual, relaxed feel of summer; shorts and fresh fruit. So, I've created this kit in colors that bridge the two seasons.

Get outside while you can and snap some photos of the last lazy days and scrap them with Goodbye Summer!

Her bio: I'm a thirty-somethin' SAHM to two boys, Yorick (2) and Phineas (1). We live in the San Francisco Bay Area (for now), temporarily transplanted here from Orange County. I started scrapbooking shortly after my first son was born because I was unhappy with the baby books I was finding and I accidentally stumbled upon digital scrapbooking. I'm an aspiring photographer, self-proclaimed sci-fi geek, and horror movie afficionado. I met my husband while we worked for a video game company, I'm that nerdy!

Reporting back on my first speed scrap . . .

Ok, so last week I encouraged all my cyber-friends to join me at DesignsInDigital.com for the speed scrap . . . with hostess Cara of Sweet Tomato Designs.

Oh my gosh . . . was this fun!! I had a hard time keeping up with everyone's chatter at first and trying to accomplish the tasks, until Cara pointed out that you have an hour to finish after all the "assignments" were doled out . . . thank goodness!

She had this clever way to relating each elements to an end of summer theme . . . so, so clever she is! Here is the layout that I created that night, it is a mix of several of my kits as I felt like I was on a scavanger hunt (giggle):

Wow . . . do I feel like a lucky girl to have these amazing layout artists join my team! Known about town for their magical, artistic layouts . . . let me introduce you . . .

Laura (aka LauraLea)

Laura is a former first grade teacher and current stay at home mommy to son, Rett, who is growing oh too fast! She's also a graduate student pursuing a Master's in Reading.

Laura started digi-scrapping for Rett's baby book and fell in love with it! After traditional scrapbooking for over 10 years, she finds digi more afforable and easier to manage with a baby.

Courtney is a stay at home mommy to two beautiful little girls, two year old Aubrey and six month old Lily. They are her world! She also has a wonderful husband of three years, who is her self-proclaimed best friend! Courtney is passionate about photography and does some freelance jobs in her spare time.

She has an associates degree in photographic imaging and is currently working towards her bachelor's degree with only seven classes to go! She is also an avid read, and of course serious about scrapping! While she never actually got into paper scrapping, she fell in love with digital about two years ago and have been addicted ever since!

Challenge 4/5 for NDIDDS - My Story!

So we are in the final weeks of the NDIDDS challenge at http://www.designsindigital.com/! I'm so excited about this . . . the final two challenges require me to create first a set of 20+ papers and then the final challenge (due next Thursday and available on Friday) is to create a set of 40+ elements and a full alphabet to go with the papers.

I'm learning so much DAILY by performing these challenges . . . I'm also learning about my own creative process and (grin) it feels backwards to me to create the theme before the papers and elements.

For this final combined challenge, I picked the title My Story because I want this kit to be a medium to telling the story of us as individual women . . . so often we get so absorbed in creating layouts focusing on those we love that we leave out our own story. When my dad died several years ago, it made me realize how valuable and precious MY STORY would be to my children and family one day after I'm gone. I found myself hanging on to every story and photo I have of my father and so desperately wish for more. Since then, I've made a point of scrapping more pages that detail who I am and what I feel, believe and dream about. WAIT - I don't want to hear you say . . . but I don't like having my picture taken . . . do it anyway! Or scrap pages that don't include photos . . . it's allowed - I give you permission!! LOL

Paper Dreams FREE KIT - Challenge 3!

Woohoo . . . here is my entry for Challenge 3 of NDIDDS . . . titled Paper Dreams! It has a shabby chic/vintage feel to it . . . I pulled from my mixed media art days and used digital ink, paint and glitter on old papers. The kite and butterflies add a touch of whimsy to this versatile kit.

For the second week's challenge, we had to design a kit that encompassed the theme girlfriends . . . we were able to pick our own color palette, but had to include 10 papers, 18 elements and a full alphabet.

Well, I don't know about you, but my friends are LIVELY . . . so I picked a bright color scheme and incorporated the color coral, which happens to be one of my best friend Sabrina's favorite colors. (See the first layout!)

So without further ado . . . here is the kit and available for download (LINK EXPIRED)!

Normally I tend to scrap with subdued colors, so it was exciting for me to use such vivid, rich hues and be BOLD with my layouts. The kit is diverse enough that you can use it for more than just friendship layouts . . . I scrapped some memories of my grandmother, along with a photo of my son and his friends!

Hi friends! I'm having a BLAST learning how to design scrapbook papers and elements. It's fair to say that I've been OBSESSED with this!

I've always wanted to learn how to design my own digital scrapbook products . . . well, no time like the present right?

I've entered a Designer Contest . . . winner gets a one year contract to Designs in Digital, who is hosting the event. I'm not betting on winning the competition, but I know that I'll learn a lot along the way and it will keep me focused.

The challenge official starts on Friday and runs for four weeks, but they gave us a warm up/extra credit challenge which will be released this week in time for National Scrapbook Weekend. So I've designed a kit with five papers and 10 elements that will be FREE! Check back Thursday or Friday for download links! Here is a sneak preview . . . titled Spring Wishes.
